The Kererū is the New Zealand pigeon, one of the best-known birds of New Zealand. Large, with iridescent plumage, and known for eating ripe, sometimes already fermented fruit. The Maori therefore sometimes call it the "drunken pigeon". Brewed with FIRST Craft Beer from Budapest.

The Style

A New Zealand Pils takes the clean, lean pilsner base and brews it with aroma hops from New Zealand. Instead of spicy, floral notes, citrus, tropical fruit and a little white wine come to the front. The Kererū uses five varieties, NZ Cascade, Motueka, Nelson Sauvin, Super Sauvin and Riwaka.

In the Glass

Bright golden, clear, fine head. Citrus, ripe tropical fruit and a hint of gooseberry from the Nelson Sauvin. Crisp and lean, the bitterness stays in the background.

Serving

At 6 to 8 °C in a pilsner glass. With anything from the grill.
