Qingluan - Bourbon Barrel-Aged Corvus Corax Imperial Stout & Barley Wine Blend, aged on walnuts and pecans (incl. VAT) - Collab with First

The Qingluan is a mythical bird from China, of the highest rarity, that only appears when everything is in balance. The name suits a beer that brings so many components together.

The Style

A part of our Imperial Stout Corvus Corax, brewed with FIRST Craft Beer from Budapest, was allowed to rest in a bourbon whiskey barrel. We then blended it with a barley wine that matured for over a year in bourbon barrels, and laid the blend on walnuts and pecans for three weeks.

In the Glass

Pitch black and viscous. The nose opens slowly with bourbon vanilla, dark chocolate, dried figs and walnut. Warm and full, almost liqueur-like. Fruity, nutty, roasty. A long finish.

Serving

At 12 to 16 °C in a cognac glass, not cold. In small sips, as a digestif.
